The Privacy Policy
Introduction
The Liora Lab (operating under Kerra Collective Co. LLC) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information from our clients and website users in the United States. By using our services or website, you agree to the practices described in this policy. This policy is intended for U.S. users and clients only and follows general U.S. privacy standards).
What We Collect
Personal Information: We collect certain personal information to effectively provide our design and consulting services. This includes identifiers and contact details such as your name, email address, and payment information (e.g. billing address or transaction details). We also collect project files and digital assets you provide to us for your projects – for example, logos, copy, branding files, images, or other content you supply for our work. These materials may be necessary for us to complete your branding or design projects. In addition, if you communicate with us (via email, forms, or phone), we will collect any information you voluntarily provide in those communications.
Technical Data (Cookies): Our website may automatically collect certain technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and browsing behavior on our site. We gather this data through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies and Analytics below) to help improve website functionality and user experience.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers or medical data) as part of our services. We ask that you only share information relevant to your project and avoid submitting sensitive data.
How We Use Your Information
The Liora Lab uses the collected information for the following purposes:
• Providing Services & Client Support: We use your information to work on your projects and deliver the services you have requested. This includes using your contact details to communicate with you about project updates, to process payments or fulfill orders, and generally to deliver our design/branding services effectively. For example, we might use your name and files to create a branding project and then email you the results or invoices.
• Improving Our Website and Services: We may use usage data and feedback to improve our website’s performance and user experience. For instance, understanding how users navigate our site or which pages are visited can help us refine our site design and content. This use typically involves aggregated or non-personal data (e.g., analytics insights) and helps us ensure our services meet client needs.
• Marketing and Communications: With your consent, we will use your email or other contact information to send you newsletters, updates, or marketing communications about our services. These emails might include company news, promotions, or tips and resources from The Liora Lab. We only send such marketing emails if you have opted in (for example, by subscribing on our website or expressly agreeing to receive them). You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the email or contacting us to be removed from our mailing list. Your choice to unsubscribe will not affect your ability to use our services.
• Legal Compliance and Protection: We may use or disclose your information as necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations or to respond to lawful requests and legal processes. For example, we might retain or disclose data if required by a court order, or use your information to enforce our contracts and policies or to protect our rights or the rights and safety of others.
We will not use your personal information for purposes unrelated to the above without informing you and obtaining any necessary consent.
Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience. Cookies are small text files placed on your device that help the site remember your preferences and understand how you use our site. We use cookies for purposes such as keeping you logged in (if our site has login features), remembering your preferences, and collecting aggregate data about site traffic to continually improve our website’s design and performance.
In addition, we may in the future implement analytics tools like Google Analytics and the Facebook Pixel on our website. These tools use cookies or pixel tags to collect anonymous information about visitors – for example, Google Analytics can tell us how many users visited a page, how they found our site, and how long they stayed, while Facebook Pixel can help us with understanding the effectiveness of our Facebook ads. This information helps us understand user engagement and tailor our content and marketing efforts. Any data collected via these analytics will be used in accordance with this privacy policy, and typically it is aggregated and does not directly identify individuals.
Your Choices (Cookies): You have control over how cookies are used. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to reject cookies or alert you when a cookie is being placed. Please note that if you disable or delete cookies, some parts of our site may not function properly (for example, certain preferences might not be saved) or your user experience may be affected. By using our site without disabling cookies, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals, but you can typically limit tracking by adjusting your cookie settings.
Marketing Communications
We take a consent-based approach to email marketing. This means we will only send you promotional emails or newsletters if you have agreed to receive them (such as by subscribing on our website or checking an opt-in box). If you sign up, we may send periodic emails about our new services, special offers, or helpful content. We always include an “Unsubscribe” link in these emails so you can stop receiving them at any time.
If you no longer wish to receive marketing emails from The Liora Lab, simply click the unsubscribe link in the email or contact us requesting removal. Once you opt out, we will remove you from our marketing list and stop sending promotional messages. (Note: Even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may still send you important transactional or service-related communications when necessary. For example, if you are a current client, we might email you about a project status, billing issue, or policy update – communications that are not marketing but are necessary for our business relationship.) We ensure that all marketing communications are compliant with the CAN-SPAM Act and other applicable U.S. laws, and we never share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes without your consent.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required for legitimate business or legal reasons. In practice, this means:
• Client Data and Project Files: For clients, we typically keep project-related files and personal contact information for approximately 2 to 5 years. This retention period allows us to support our ongoing client relationships – for instance, if you return for a new project or need copies of your branding files, we can assist you. It also helps us comply with any record-keeping obligations (such as tax or accounting requirements) and address any issues that arise post-project.
• Prospective Client Inquiries: If you contacted us but did not end up engaging our services, we may retain your inquiry information (name, contact, and message) for a shorter period (e.g., 1 year) in case you decide to proceed or to follow up on our performance.
After the applicable retention period, or once information is no longer needed for the purposes we collected it, we will securely delete or anonymize the personal information. For example, outdated project files may be archived offline or deleted, and personal data in our databases will be erased or stripped of identifying details. If we are unable to immediately delete data (for instance, because it’s stored in routine backups), we will continue to safeguard it and isolate it from further use until deletion is possible. We periodically review the data we hold and ensure we’re not keeping it longer than necessary. You may also request that we delete your personal information sooner (see Your Rights below), and we will honor such requests in line with legal requirements.
Sharing with Third Parties
The Liora Lab respects your privacy and does not sell your personal information to third parties for profit. We only share your information in a few specific scenarios, outlined below, and always with appropriate safeguards:
• Service Providers: We use a number of trusted third-party service providers to run our business and deliver services to you. For example, we rely on companies for website hosting, email delivery, payment processing, cloud storage, and analytics services. When it’s necessary to fulfill our operations, we may share relevant personal information with these providers – such as providing our payment processor with your billing details to complete a transaction, or using an email service (e.g., Mailchimp or similar) to send out our newsletter. These third-party partners are bound by contracts that limit how they can use your data. They are only permitted to use your information for the purpose of providing services to The Liora Lab and must protect it in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
• Legal Requirements and Protection: We may also disclose personal information if we are required by law to do so or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation (for example, responding to a subpoena, court order, or government request), (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of The Liora Lab or Kerra Collective Co., (iii) prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with our services, or (iv) protect the personal safety of our users or the public. In these cases, we will only share the information to the extent strictly necessary and will inform you if permissible.
Aside from the situations above, we will not share, trade, or transfer your personal information to any outside parties. We do not engage in selling mailing lists or disclosing client information for advertising purposes. If in the future we need to share information for a new purpose, we will inform you and, if required, obtain your consent.
Data Security
We take data security very seriously at The Liora Lab. We have implemented commercially reasonable and appropriate technical, physical, and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These security measures include, for example: using secure hosting providers with firewalls, employing encryption for sensitive financial information, and restricting access to personal data only to employees or contractors who need it to perform their work (and who are bound by confidentiality obligations). We also maintain standard security practices such as regular software updates, malware protection, and secure backup procedures to safeguard data.
However, please be aware that no method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information sent to our site or stored in our systems. Cyber threats evolve rapidly, and although we utilize strong protections, there is always some risk. We encourage you to take precautions as well, such as using secure passwords and not sharing your account information with others. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law and work to remedy the situation.
By using our services, you acknowledge and accept that there are inherent risks in Internet communications and data storage. We continuously review our security protocols to adapt to new threats and to protect your privacy.
Your Rights and Choices
As a user or client, you have certain rights and choices regarding your personal information. The Liora Lab is committed to respecting those rights in line with U.S. privacy laws and principles of customer transparency. These rights include:
• Right to Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. Upon verification of your identity, we will provide you with a summary of your data in our records, free of charge (subject to any exceptions under the law).
• Right to Rectification: If any of your personal information is incorrect or outdated, you have the right to request that we correct or update it. We encourage you to keep your information with us accurate, and we will promptly make the corrections upon your request.
• Right to Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal data when it’s no longer necessary for the purposes for which you provided it. For example, if you end your relationship with The Liora Lab and want your contact info removed, you can ask us to delete it. We will honor such requests unless we are required to keep certain data for legal or contractual reasons. (If data has been shared with third-party service providers for necessary reasons, we will relay the deletion request to them as needed.)
• Right to Object/Opt Out: You have the right to object to certain uses of your data. In particular, you can opt out of receiving marketing communications from us at any time (see Marketing Communications above). If we ever engaged in any practice like sharing data for targeted advertising (which we currently do not), you would have the right to opt out of that as well. We do not sell personal data, so there is no need for an opt-out of sale.
These rights may be subject to some limitations. For instance, access or deletion requests might be declined if required to retain data by law (such as record-keeping obligations) or if we cannot verify your identity. If you are a resident of certain states (like California), you may have additional rights under state law, which we will comply with as applicable (for example, California residents have the right to know what personal information a business has collected about them and to not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights). We will always try to accommodate your request to the fullest extent required (and even beyond legal requirements, as a courtesy, where feasible).
Exercising Your Rights: To exercise any of these rights or make an inquiry about your personal data, please contact us using the information in the Contact Information section below. We may need to verify your identity (to ensure we do not disclose or delete data to the wrong person) and may ask for certain information to process your request. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe, as required by law, and inform you of the actions taken.
